The Lebanese Ministry of Finance (MOF) published its monthly snapshot on government transfers to Electricité Du Liban (EDL), revealing a $386.73 million decrease in the amounts transferred to LBP 810 billion ($537.3 million) in 2021, down from LBP 1,393 billion ($924.0 million) in 2020. This owes particularly to the 43.1% yearly drop in the value of gas and fuel purchases from KPC and Sonatrach to LBP 791 billion ($524.7 million), which outweighed the 33.3% increase in debt service to LBP 4 billion ($2.7 million).
It is worth noting that the amounts transferred to EDL constituted 5.31% of the government’s total primary expenditures in 2021, compared to 8.54% a year earlier.
تُظهٍر الإحصاءات الشهريّة لوزارة المال اللبنانيّة إنخفاضاً سنويّاً بحوالي 386.73 مليون د.أ. في تحويلات الخزينة إلى شركة كهرباء لبنان في العام 2021 إلى 810 مليار ل.ل. (537.3 مليون د.أ.) مقارنةً ب1،393 مليار ل.ل. (924.0 مليون د.أ.) في العام 2020. يُنسَب هذا التراجع بالأخصّ إلى إنخفاض فاتورة المدفوعات لقاء شراء الغاز والوقود من مؤسَّسة البترول الكويتيّة وشركة سوناطراك الجزائريّة بنسبة 43.1% إلى 791 مليار ل.ل. (524.7 مليون د.أ.)، ما طغى على إرتفاع خدمة الدين بنسبة 33.3% إلى 4 مليار ل.ل. (2.7 مليون د.أ.).
يجدر الذكر أنّ حصّة التحويلات إلى شركة كهرباء لبنان قد تراجعت إلى 5.31% من إجمالي نفقات الحكومة الأوّليّة خلال العام 2021، مقابِل حصّة 8.54% في الفترة نفسها من العام 2020.
