The number of passengers travelling via the Beirut International Airport (BIA) rose by 17.68% y-o-y in the first ten months of 2023 to 6,298,356, up from 5,351,887 passengers in the same period last year. More specifically, the number of arriving travelers rose by 17.53% y-o-y to 3,064,063 and the number of departing travelers increased by 18.55% to 3,225,598 while the number of transit travelers fell by 63.78% to 8,695. Concurrently, the number of flights saw an annual rebound of 14.81% over the concerned period to 50,396. It is worth highlighting in this context that the share of Middle East Airlines (MEA) rose from 37.33% of the total number of flights during the first ten months of 2022 to 41.53% in the same period this year.
