50best recently published its third edition of the top 50 restaurants in the MENA region where 250 regional pioneers in the industry weighed in their opinions on restaurants across 19 countries. In details, each pioneer can cast 7 votes, of which a maximum of 5 can go in favor of restaurants in his own country, noting that 34% of the panel are chefs, 33% are food writers and 33% are gourmets. Dubai-based restaurants dominated the list with 18 appearances, followed by Amman-based (5 appearances) and Cairo-based (5 appearances) ones and three restaurants from each of Beirut and Marakech.
Dubai-based restaurants also swept the top positions, registering 4 entries amongst the best five regional restaurants. In details, Dubai-based Orfali Bros Bistro maintained its leading position for the second year in a row, followed by its compatriots Tresind Studio, Ossiano and Moonrise, while Cairo-based Khufu’s completed the top 5 list. On a local basis, three Lebanese restaurants appeared on the list, led by Em Sherif (several local branches along with an expansion to Riyadh, Doha, Damascus, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and most recently to London) which ranked 8th on a regional level. Em Sherif was followed by Baron restaurant (located in Mar Mikhael) which ranked 16th and Tawlet Mar Mikhael (3 local branches along with one in Paris) which ranked 31st in the region.
نشر موقع 50best مؤخراً نسخته الثالثة لأفضل 50 مطعماً في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا، حيث قام 250 خبير إقليمي في مجال المطاعم بإعطاء آرائهم حول المطاعم في 19 دولة في المنطقة. وفي التفاصيل، فقد سمح لكل رائد بالإدلاء بـ 7 أصوات على أن تكون 5 أصوات منها كحد أقصى موجهّة لمطاعم في بلده الأم مع الإشارة إلى أنّ 34% من أعضاء اللجنة هم من الطهاة و33% من كتّاب الطعام و33% من الذوّاقة. وقد هيمنت مطاعم دبيّ على القائمة بـ 18 مطعم، تلتها مطاعم عمّان والقاهرة بخمسة مطاعم لكلّ منها وثلاثة مطاعم من كل من بيروت ومراكش.
كما استحوذت المطاعم التي تتخذ من دبيّ مقرّاً لها على المراكز الأولى، حيث سجلّت 4 مشاركات ضمن أفضل خمسة مطاعم إقليميّة. وفي التفاصيل، حافظ مطعم أورفالي بروس ومقرّه دبيّ على مكانته الرائدة للعام الثاني على التوالي تلاه ثلاثة مطاعم في دبيّ أيضاُ ألا وهيّ تريسند إستوديو وأوسيانو ومونرايز فيما حلّ مطعم خوفو الموجود في القاهرة في المرتبة الخامسة. على المستوى المحلّي، ظهرت أسماء ثلاثة مطاعم لبنانيّة على القائمة، على رأسها مطعم إم شريف (عدة فروع محليّة مع توسّع إلى الرياض والدوحة ودمشق ودبي وأبو ظبي ومؤخراً إلى لندن) الذي احتلّ المرتبة الثامنة على المستوى الإقليمي تلاه كلّ من مطعم البارون (الموجود في مار مخايل) الذي احتل المرتبة 16، ومطعم طاولة مار مخايل (3 فروع محليّة بالإضافة إلى فرع في باريس) الذي احتل المرتبة 31 في المنطقة.
