The Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF) has allocated $25 million aid to help address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Lebanon through three pillars. More specifically, pillar one aims to withstand critical life-saving humanitarian interventions to tackle urgent survival needs resulting from the conflict, while pillar two’s objective is to provide quick, life-saving aid to newly arrived individuals/families residing inside/outside collective shelters, and pillar three’s aims at strengthening flexibility and local capacity in humanitarian action. The project is targeting around 442 thousand individuals, bearing in mind that the LHF has targeted 5,988 Palestinian refugees, 137,836 refugees, 110,978 host communities, 157,469 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) & returnees, and 665 migrants. Furthermore, the $25 million aid is divided into two tranches: the first will be provided by national NGOs for a total amount of $10 million and will target 25 projects, while the second will be provided by international NGOs for an amount of $15 million and will be targeting 23 projects. Furthermore, the funding will be geared towards a variety of sectors including food security ($7.2 million), wash ($5.2 million), health ($4.6 million), protection ($3.5 million), basic assistance ($2.1 million), shelter ($1.7 million), education ($0.4 million), and nutrition ($0.4 million).
