Cement deliveries, the coincident indicator of construction activity, fell by 7.45% during the month of August 2025 to 255,590 tons, down from 276,155 tons a month earlier. On an annual basis however, cement deliveries increased by 25.78% to 1,943,114 tons as at the end of the first eight months of 2025, in comparison with 1,544,868 tons in the same period in 2024, and just coming 13.38% short of the level registered during in the same period in 2019 before the eruption of the local financial crisis. The rebound in cement deliveries in 2025 can be attributed to the improvement in the local political scene and security conditions.
Cement deliveries registered a negative compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.87% over the August 2018 – August 2025 period, mirroring the lackluster activity of Lebanon’s construction sector amidst the pale economic situation.
سَجَّلَت تسليمات الإسمنت، والتي تشكِّل مؤشِّراً رئيسيّاً للنشاط العقاري، تراجعاً شهريّاً بنسبة 7.45% في آب من العام 2025 إلى 255،590 طن، مقابِل 276،155 طن في الشهر الذي سبقه. أمّا على صعيدٍ تراكمي، فقد زادت تسليمات الإسمنت بنسبة 25.78% سنويّاً لتصل إلى 1،943،114 طن مع نهاية الأشهر الثمانية الأولى من العام 2025 مقارنةً ب1،544،868 طن خلال الفترة نفسها من العام 2024 غير أنّها لا زالت أدنى بنسبة 13.38% من المستوى المسجّل في الفترة نفسها من العام 2019 أيّ قبل إندلاع الأزمة الماليّة المحليّة. يمكن تعليل التحسّن المذكور في الأشهر الثمانية الأولى من العام 2025 بالتحسّن في المشهد السياسي العام وفي الأوضاع الأمنيّة.
يُظهِر البيان التالي أنّ نسبة النموّ السنوي المركَّب (Compounded Annual Growth Rate) لتسليمات الإسمنت كانت سلبيّةً عند 6.87% خلال الفترة الممتدّة بين شهريّ آب 2018 وآب 2025، ما يَعكس ضعفاً في ديناميكيّة قطاع البناء في ظلّ الركود الإقتصادي الذي تشهده البلاد.
