The Lebanese Central Bank published on November 28, 2025 basic decisions 13770 and 13771 under intermediate circulars 746 and 747 which amended basic decisions 13335 and 13611 under basic circulars 158 and 166. In details, the Central Bank decided to raise the monthly limit for eligible depositors benefitting from the provisions of basic circulars 158 and 166 to $1,000 and $500 up from $800 and $500 respectively, yet restricted the utilization of the additional $200 and $100 amounts via debit cards on Points of Sale (POS), i.e. amounts not available for cash withdrawal. In addition, the circulars expanded the eligibility criteria to include licensed sole proprietorships and authorized charitable or religious associations. These changes became effective starting the beginning of December 2025.
