The Lebanese Parliament passed during its latest session this week a law for an agreement with the World Bank involving a $250 million loan for the reconstruction of infrastructure in the South. The Parliament also passed a host of other laws including a law for an emergency assistance project for Lebanon (also with the World Bank), an amendment to the judicial independence law (after taking into account the remarks of the President), and an amendment to the law concerning the sources of financing for integrated solid waste management among others.
