The Lebanese Central Bank issued on December 30, 2025 intermediate decision 13789 under intermediate circular no. 749 to banks and financial institutions where it reduced interest payments on banks’ long-term USD deposits with BDL and on their USD-denominated certificates of deposit issued by the Central Bank by 90% compared to a 75% reduction previously. It is worth noting that the interest will be paid in US Dollar in the non-fresh current account of the concerned bank at the Central Bank. The circular becomes effective starting January 1, 2026.
أَصدَرَ مصرف لبنان بتاريخ 30 كانون الأول 2025 القرار الوسيط رقم 13789 تحت التعميم الوسيط رقم 749 للمصارف والمؤسّسات الماليّة والذي خفّض من خلاله الفوائد على الودائع الطويلة الأجل والمعنوَنة بالدولار الأميركي المودَعة لديه وعلى شهادات الإيداع المعنوَنة بالدولار الأميركي المصدَّرة من قِبَله بنسبة 90% مقارنةً بتخفيض ينسبة نسبة 75% سابقاً. يجدر الذكر بأنّ هذه الفوائد تدفع بالدولار الأميركي في الحساب الجاري العائد للمصرف المعني لدى مصرف لبنان من غير الأموال النقديّة. ويدخل القرار حيّذ التنفيذ في 1 كانون الثاني 2026.
