Activity on the Beirut Stock Exchange (BSE) rebounded this week with the number of shares changing hands soaring to 467,006 shares from 69,003 shares in the week before and value traded skyrocketing to $9.06 million compared to $1.45 million a week earlier. Trades were mainly concentrated in banking sector stocks, which accounted for 50.60% of weekly traded volume.
The average daily traded volume rose to 93,401 shares this week, from 34,502 shares in the week before, with the average daily traded value also increasing to $1.81 million, from around $0.72 million a week earlier.
Five gaining and three losing stocks were screened this week, lifting the BSE’s market capitalization up by 2.37% week-on-week to around $10.96 billion and the Credit Libanais Aggregate Stock Index (“CLASI”) by 2.81% to 1,141.77.
In the real estate sector, trades mainly consisted of Solidere “A” and “B” shares (47.87% of weekly traded volume), with the price of Solidere “A” rising by 4.53% week-on-week to $38.74 and that of Solidere “B” increasing by 3.72% to $38.46. Similarly, the price of Holcim Liban shares rose by 11.90% w-o-w to $23.50. Consequently, the Credit Libanais Construction Sector Stock Index (“CLCI”) ended the week 4.66% higher on a weekly basis at 1,972.90.
In the banking sector, Byblos Bank listed shares amassed the highest concentration of trades (36.08% of total BSE traded volume) with a thin turnover ratio of 0.03%. The Credit Libanais Financial Sector Stock Index (“CLFI”) in its turn closed its week down by 1.05% at 581.53. This comes on the back of the 42.86% contraction in the price of Byblos Bank GDRs to $20.00, coupled with the 9.52% decrease in the price of Byblos Bank listed shares to $0.76 and the 5.00% drop in the price of BLOM Bank GDRs to $2.85, which altogether outweighed the 5.88% appreciation in the price of Bank Audi GDRs to $1.80 and the 1.18% increase in the price of Bank Audi listed shares to $1.71.
The market-cap weighted average price to book value (P/BV) multiple of listed stocks ended its week higher at 2.655 based on the closing prices of Friday’s session compared to 2.506 in the previous week.

زاد المتوسِّط اليومي لعدد الأسهُم المتداوَلة إلى 93،401 سهم في هذا الأسبوع، من 34،502 سهم في الأسبوع الذي سبقه كما وإرتفع متوسّط القيمة التداوليّة اليوميّة للأسهم إلى 1.81 مليون د.أ.، مقارنةً بحوالي 0.72 مليون د.أ. في الأسبوع الذي سبقه.
في سياقٍ متّصل، إرتفعت الرسملة السوقيّة (Market Capitalization) لبورصة بيروت بنسبة 2.37% أسبوعيّاً إلى حوالي 10.96 مليار د.أ.، وذلك في ظلّ تحسّن في أسعار خمسة أسهم وتراجع سعر ثلاثة أسهم أخرى. وقد أنهى مؤشِّر بنك الإعتماد اللبناني للبورصة (“CLASI”) أسبوعه على إرتفاع بنسبة 2.81% عن إقفال الأسبوع السابق ليصل إلى 1،141.77.
في القطاع العقاري، تركّزت غالبيّة عمليّات التداول بأسهُم سوليدير "أ" و"ب" (47.87% من مجموع عدد الأسهُم المتداوَلة هذا الأسبوع) حيث إرتفع سعر سهم سوليدير "أ" بنسبة 4.53% على أساس أسبوعي إلى 38.74 د.أ. وزاد سعر سهم سوليدير "ب" بنسبة 3.72% إلى 38.46 د.أ. وقد إرتفع سعر أسهم هولسيم لبنان بنسبة 11.90% على أساسٍ أسبوعي إلى 23.50 د.أ. في هذا الإطار، أنهى مؤشِّر بنك الإعتماد اللبناني لأداء القطاع العقاري في البورصة (“CLCI”) أسبوعه على إرتفاع بنسبة 4.66% إلى 1،972.90.
أمّا في القطاع المصرفي، فقد إستحوذت الأسهم العاديّة التابعة لبنك بيبلوس على الحصّة الأكبر (36.08%) من مجموع عدد الأسهُم المتداوَلة خلال الأسبوع. من جهته، إنخفض مؤشِّر بنك الإعتماد اللبناني لأداء القطاع المالي في البورصة (“CLFI”) بنسبة 1.05% في الأسبوع المنتهي في 13 أيّار 2022 إلى 581.53. أتى هذا التراجع في ظلّ تقلّص سعر شهادات الإيداع التابعة لبنك بيبلوس بنسبة 42.86% إلى 20.00 د.أ.، ترافقاً مع إنخفاض سعر الأسهم العاديّة التابعة لبنك بيبلوس بنسبة 9.52% إلى 0.76 د.أ. وتدنّي سعر شهادات الإيداع التابعة لبنك لبنان والمهجر بنسبة 5.00% إلى 2.85 د.أ.، ما طغى على إرتفاع سعر شهادات الإيداع التابعة لبنك عودة بنسبة 5.88% إلى 1.80 د.أ. وزيادة سعر الأسهم العاديّة التابعة لبنك عودة بنسبة 1.18% إلى 1.71 د.أ.
من جهّته، أنهى المتوسّط المثقَّل للسعر على القيمة الدفتريّة (P/BV) للأسهُم المدرَجة على بورصة بيروت أسبوعه على تحسّن ليصل إلى 2.655 بحسب أسعار إقفال نهار الجمعة.
