The Lebanese Central Bank issued on June 27, 2024 intermediate decision 13648 under intermediate circular no. 701 to banks and financial institutions. In details, the provisions of the circular stipulate that interest payments on banks’ long-term USD deposits with BDL will be reduced by 75% and will be paid in US Dollar in the non-fresh current account of the concerned bank at the Central Bank. Similarly, interest payments on banks’ participations in USD-denominated certificates of deposit issued by BDL will also be decreased by 75% and paid in US Dollar in the non-fresh current account of the concerned bank at the Central Bank. Finally, the provisions of intermediate circular 701 will be valid until the end of year 2024.
أَصدَرَ مصرف لبنان بتاريخ 27 حزيران 2024 القرار الوسيط رقم 13648 تحت التعميم الوسيط رقم 701 للمصارف والمؤسّسات الماليّة. بالتفاصيل، أشار التعميم أنّ الفوائد على الودائع الطويلة الأجل والمعنوَنة بالدولار الأميركي المودَعة لديه من قِبَل المصارف العامِلة في لبنان ستخفّض بنسبة 75% على أن تدفع بالدولار الأميركي من الحساب الجاري العائد للمصرف المعني لدى مصرف لبنان من غير الأموال النقديّة. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، ستخفّض الفوائد على شهادات الإيداع المعنوَنة بالدولار الأميركي المصدَّرة من قِبَله والتي تملكها المصارف العامِلة في لبنان بنسبة 75% وستدفع بالدولار الأميركي من الحساب الجاري العائد للمصرف المعني لدى مصرف لبنان من غير الأموال النقديّة. أخيراً، سيُعمل بأحكام التعميم الوسيط رقم 701 لغاية نهاية العام 2024.
