The Lebanese financial sector’s net foreign assets widened by $201.0 million in May 2024 in comparison with increases of $142.6 million in April, $51.9 million in March, $131.1 million in February and $259.4 million in January. May’s figure can be attributed to some $191.8 million increase in the net foreign assets of the Central Bank coupled with some $9.2 million rise in the net foreign assets of banks & financial institutions. On a cumulative basis, the financial sector’s net foreign assets soared by $786.1 million during the first five months of the year 2024 in comparison with an increase of $1,231.3 million in the same period in 2023. This increase owes to a $562.7 million expansion in the net foreign assets of the Central Bank coupled with a $223.4 million rise in the net foreign assets of banks & financial institutions.
إرتفع صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى القطاع المالي اللبناني بمبلغ قدره 201.0 مليون د.أ. خلال الشهر الخامس من العام 2024 مقارنةً مع زيادة بلغت 142.6 مليون د.أ. في شهر نيسان و51.9 مليون د.أ. في شهر آذار و131.1 مليون د.أ. في شهر شباط، و259.4 مليون د.أ. في شهر كانون الثاني. تأتي أرقام شهر أيّار نتيجة إرتفاع صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى المصرف المركزي بمبلغٍ قدره 191.8 مليون د.أ. ترافقاً مع زيادة صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى المصارف والمؤسّسات الماليّة بقيمة 9.2 مليون د.أ. كذلك على صعيدٍ تراكميٍّ، فقد إرتفع صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى القطاع المالي اللبناني بحوالي 786.1 مليون د.أ. خلال الأشهر الخمسة الأولى من العام 2024 مقارنةً بزيادة بلغت 1،231.3 مليون د.أ. في الفترة ذاتها من العام 2023. يعزى الإرتفاع المذكور إلى زيادة صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى مصرف لبنان بمبلغٍ قدره 562.7 مليون د.أ. ترافقاً مع إرتفاع صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى المصارف والمؤسَّسات الماليّة بقيمة 223.4 مليون د.أ.
