According to the statistics published by the Automobile Importers Association (AIA), new cars registration activity improved during the month of September 2024 to 927 cars, compared to 447 in August, noting that there were no cars registrations in the same month last year earlier on the back of the closure of the Traffic Management Organization (TMO). On a cumulative basis, the number of registered cars rose to 6,686 in the first nine months of 2024 compared to 3,891 cars in the same period last year notwithstanding the fact that the current year’s figure is still dwarfed by the ~20K pre-crisis level registered during the first nine months of 2019.
