Activity on the Lebanese stock market lost steam during the second month of 2025 with the number of shares changing hands decreasing by 22.46% month-on-month to 801,588 shares, compared to 1,033,733 shares in January, with value traded dropping by 26.47% to $22.45 million, from around $30.53 million a month earlier. Trades mainly consisted of banking stocks (73.87% of total number of shares traded) followed by real estate (19.32%) and industry & trading (6.81%) stocks. The market capitalization of listed companies fell by 4.51% in February to $24.45 billion, noting that it came in 35.86% higher year-on-year when compared to the $18.00 billion reading reported in February 2024. The monthly decrease in the market capitalization owes to the contraction in the prices of heavy market-capitalization weighted stocks, namely Bank Audi listed shares (12.76% monthly decrease), Byblos Bank listed shares (12.00% monthly drop), Solidere “A” (8.83% monthly decline), and Solidere “B” (5.96% monthly decrease), which altogether outweighed the appreciation in the prices of BLOM Bank listed shares (32.00% monthly increase), BLOM Bank GDRs (20.75% monthly rise), and Holcim Liban shares (10.81% month-on-month hike), only to name a few.
On an annual basis, the number of shares changing hands on the BSE fell by 41.42% YTD February 2025 to 1.84 million shares with the value of shares traded dipping by 68.42% to $52.98 million. As far as trading multiples are concerned, the weighted average Price to Book Value (P/BV) multiple of listed stocks ended the last trading day of February 2025 lower at 8.379x down from 9.112x in January, noting that it stood at 5.971x in February 2024 at a time when the prices of heavy market-cap weighted Solidere “A” and “B” shares were trading at $77.70 and $74.75 respectively, compared to closing prices of $103.30 for Solidere “A” shares and $104.10 for “Solidere “B” shares as at end of February 2025.
Overall, trading activity grew thinner in February 2025 as evidenced by the drop in the turnover ratio (being the number of shares traded divided by total listed shares) to 0.04%, down from 0.05% a month earlier. Similarly, the turnover ratio decreased to 0.09% by the end of the first two months of this year, compared to 0.16% in the same period last year.
كانت حركة التداول على بورصة بيروت ضعيفة خلال الشهر الثاني من العام 2025 حيث إنخفض عدد الأسهُم المُتداوَلة بنسبة 22.46% على صعيد شهريّ إلى 801،588 سهم مقارنةً ب1،033،733 سهم في الشهر الذي سبقه كما وتراجعت قيمة الأسهُم المُتداوَلة بنسبة 26.47% إلى 22.45 مليون د.أ.، من حوالي 30.53 مليون د.أ. في الشهر الذي سبقه. وقد تركّزت الحصّة الأكبر من الأسهُم المُتداوَلة في القطاع المصرفي الذي إستحوذ على 73.87% من مجموع عدد الأسهُم المُتداوَلة، تبعه القطاع العقاري (19.32%) وقطاع الصناعة والتجارة (6.81%). أمّا فيما يخصّ الرسملة السوقيّة للبورصة، فقد تدنّت هذه الأخيرة بنسبة 4.51% خلال شهر شباط إلى حوالي ال24.45 مليار د.أ. في حين أنّها أتت أعلى بنسبة 35.86% على صعيدٍ سنويٍّ عند مقارنتها بالمستوى الذي كانت عليه في شهر شباط 2024 والبالغ حينها حوالي 18.00 مليار د.أ. يُعزى الإنخفاض الشهريّ في الرسملة السوقيّة إلى التراجع في أسعار أسهم ذو رسملة سوقيّة عالية كالأسهم العاديّة التابعة لبنك عوده (تراجع شهريّ بنسبة 12.76%) والأسهم العاديّة التابعة لبنك بيبلوس (إنخفاض شهريّ بنسبة 12.00%) وأسهم سوليدير "أ" (تراجع شهريّ بنسبة 8.83%) وأسهم سوليدير "ب" (تراجع شهريّ بنسبة 5.96%)، ما طغى على الإرتفاع في أسعار الأسهم العاديّة التابعة لبنك لبنان والمهجر (زيادة شهريّة بنسبة 32.00%) وشهادات الإيداع التابعة لبنك لبنان والمهجر (زيادة شهريّة بنسبة 20.75%) وأسهم هولسيم لبنان (إرتفاع شهريّ بنسبة 10.81%) للذكر لا الحصر.
أمّا على صعيدٍ سنويٍّ، فقد تقلّص عدد الأسهمُ المُتداوَلة على بورصة بيروت بنسبة 41.42% مع نهاية الشهرين الأوّلين من العام 2025 إلى 1.84 مليون سهم كما وإنخفضت قيمة الأسهم المتداولة بنسبة 68.42% سنويّاً إلى 52.98 مليون د.أ. كذلك تراجع المتوسِّط المثقَّل للسعر على القيمة الدفتريّة (P/Bv) للأسهُم المُدرَجة إلى 8.379 في نهاية شهر شباط 2025، مقابل 9.112 في شهر كانون الثاني علماً أنّه تحسّن بشكلٍ كبير عند مقارنته بأرقام شهر شباط 2024 حين إستقرّ على مستوى 5.971 عندما كانت أسعار التداول في أسهم سوليدير "أ" و"ب" عند 77.70 د.أ. و74.75 د.أ. بالتتالي مقارنةً بأسعار إقفال بلغت 103.30 د.أ. لأسهم سوليدير "أ" و104.10 د.أ. لأسهم سوليدير "ب" في نهاية الشهر الثاني من العام الحالي.
وقد كانت حركة التداول على بورصة بيروت خجولة خلال الشهر الثاني من العام 2025 كما يتبيّن من خلال متوسِّط عدد الأسهُم المتداوَلة كنسبةٍ من عدد الأسهم المدرجة والذي إنخفض إلى 0.04% مقارنةً ب0.05% في الشهر الأوّل من العام. كذلك على صعيدٍ تراكمي، فقد تراجعت هذه النسبة إلى 0.09% خلال الشهرين الأوّلين من العام الجاري، مقابل 0.16% في الفترة الموازية من العام الفائت.
