The Council of Ministers has recently resolved to adopt the liquefied fuel prices that were prevailing on February 8 (except for gas cylinders) as a floor price, leading as such to a significant increase in prices given the substantial decline in global fuel prices since then. The government justified the decision by the need to fund monthly grants for active (LBP 14 million) and retired (LBP 12 million) military personnel. Accordingly, the prices of liquefied fuel prices will become as follows:
قرّر مجلس الوزراء مؤخراً إعتماد أسعار المحروقات السائلة التي كانت سائدة في 8 شباط (بإستثناء قوارير الغاز)، مما أدّى إلى إرتفاع ملحوظ في الأسعار نظراً للإنخفاض الكبير الذي شهدته أسعار الوقود عالمياً منذ ذلك الحين. وعلّلت الحكومة هذا القرار بالحاجة إلى تمويل المنح الشهريّة التي سيتم منحها للعسكريين الذين هم في الخدمة الفعليّة (14 مليون ليرة لبنانيّة) ولأولئك المتقاعدين (12 مليون ليرة لبنانيّة). وبناءً عليه، ستصبح أسعار المحروقات السائلة كما يلي:
