The Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Mr. Ambroise Fayolle recently commented during the United Nations Climate Change Conference or Conference of the Parties (COP28) that the EIB would be ready to extend financial aid to Lebanon once the necessary reforms are enacted. In details, Mr. Fayolle expressed his concern on the prevailing economic and political disruption while adding that the EIB did not pen any financial assistance to Lebanon since October 2019. Mr. Fayolle added, however, that the EIB is still providing other forms of in kind assistance, mainly in the fields of consultancy & micro finance, whilst also assisting Lebanese companies mainly in the digital and consumer sector via regional investment funds.
